Really. There are so many other ways to spend 93 minutes of your life.

It could highlight several issues in the film, the work of researching, historical, the time represented in the conception of man, a film that invites endless distortions humanize we live day by day. Staging incredible, brutal and superb performances, as I read some comments lack the ability to watch the metaphors ...

Not even the landscape and cinematography could save this one. It was a slow plod through an unlikely story line.

But I'll try, how about horrible or awful or abysmal? No, those are too gentle for what has to be one of most self absorbed, pretentious, and poorly directed films I've ever seen and definitely the absolute worst of the Viking genre.

Having seen Bronson, also by Winding Refn, I was a bit skeptical about what might be in store watching Valhalla Rising. What you get, as the subject of this post states, is a Terrence Malick-style nature film (which all of Malick's films are) mixed with the hyper-violence that Winding Refn seems to be known for.

There is no way to go into this film expecting the correct thing.Forget noteworthy acting, because there isn't any the dialogue is sparse, and when it is there it is bland.

For those who say it wasn't what they expected, I'd say I agree, however, this is a very good film. I remember hearing about all of the pyrotechnics which were used in 'Full Metal Jacket" and having just previously seen 'a clockwork orange' I was.

SKINNY A captured warrior, with one good eye, cannot be left to chance. If he can, he will.

Started well - gritty action, interesting plot. Then, from a point, it just becomes an exercise in pretentious nothingness, until it all unravels at the end.
