Goofs

As both John and Magnus fight for the first time, John is attacked with an axe of which sees them struggle against the wall with the axe on each others hands.

First shot just before they are against the wall the axe head is shown facing down, following shot show it facing up, following shot then shows it facing down and the last shot of this sequence shows it up.

Just before Magnus slams into a normal car, he turns the steering wheel left as well as his body.

However on the following shot the wheels are fully straight as well as himself.

Just after the turn, John slams into Magnus's vehicle and causes his own back right window to smash, which is clearly visible on the follow through drive, however just as the tire is blown and they go onto the next few shots, it's clear that the same window has now repaired itself, it's also clear when the vehicle crashes the window still has in tacked glass.

As Magnus aims the shotgun at the female passenger and fires the second time, even though the shotgun is pointing directly at the passenger, instead of the female getting shot the right front tire gets shot out.

Just as John and his female friend are about to flip the vehicle, as it flips you can clearly see bursting to the left the blow canister which aids the flip.

As they go for the flip shot, you can see the front bumper has somehow repaired itself completely.

During the start of a conversation between another doctor, Miles and John, Miles is leaning forward asking who killed them, the following shot shows Miles is bolt upright away from Jon and is next to the doctor that created the "tag".

During the car chase in the middle of the movie the rear right hand tyre of the black SUV is clearly seen to be shredded and the vehicle is running on the rim but in the next shot the tyre is shown full again.

The same water tower and the Christian Street Furniture warehouse in Baton Rouge, LA are passed repeatedly during the car chase in the middle of the movie.

After Magnus vomits, as he exits the house we can see his vehicle is running already as vapour is exiting the exhaust pipe, but when he gets in the car he turns the key.

In the chase where the "Plumber" rams into the car that John and "Fantasia" are driving together he passes "Christian Street Furniture".

10 - 15 seconds later they pass "Christian Street Furniture" again.

When John climbs down the shaft in the woods, the back of his shirt changes from just bloody down the middle, to an almost completely blood soaked back.

When John pulls up to Isaac's apartment complex the Ford emblem is busted out on his SUV but in the next scene when John is driving away the Ford emblem is visibly unharmed.

Just after John has the device cut from the back of his neck, blood is trickling down the front of his neck and onto his white vest, staining it.

In later shots the blood stain is gone.

When Deveraux grabs John 'through' the mirror, John's supposedly chopped-off left-hand pinky is visible as he tries to struggle himself free.

Additionally in the next scene, as he wakes up, you can see his supposedly cut-off fingers folded into a fisted position through the bloody bandages.

In the last fight scene in the bunker, the hole in his forehead switches from the right side to the left then back to the right.

Reviews

I am now one hour into this film and on a car chase. I have only seen the first "Universal Soldier" a long time ago, however I thought Van Damme freed himself and was a good guy?

What happened to the franchise? Universal soldier movies were solid movies.

-Plot : Strange follow-up with three veteran but exceptional action men : Van Damme as Luc Deveraux , Lundgren as Andrew Scott and Scott Adkins as John . With top-secret technology, the undercover agency has created a next-generation Universal Soldier - an elite fighter genetically altered into a programmable killing machine , forming a tough army of genetically enhanced warriors .

John (Adkins) has suffered a horrendous family tragedy, and former UniSol Luc Devereaux (Van Damme) is now the target of his quest for revenge. Not helping the already volatile and complex situation is an out-of-control maniac on the rampage named Magnus (Orlovski, who was so unforgettable as "The Freak" in the previous installment of this series) who is tracking John's every move.

Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning is a fantastic action packed Thriller, this is probably the best film in the "Universal Soldier" franchise!!! Each entry in this very unique sci-fi series are so different & that's why it's such a cool & interesting franchise.

I didn't know what to expect from the last UNIVERSAL SOLDIER, the first one of the franchise is a total classic, the second one was a big disappointment and the third one was a great surprise that gave a new vision to the franchise, in this new film Jean-Claude Van Damme is no longer the main actor, his character has new argumental twist becoming of some kind of colonel Kurtz from Apocalypse now, losing the little mankind he had left, I must say that his performance is what I most liked about the film. This time Scott Adkins is the star, a great martial artist who in my opinion lacks in charisma compared with the greatest stars of the genre, his final fight against JCVD is pretty awesome .

A guy named John (Scoot Adkins) sees three guys invade his home. They grab his wife and daughter and kill them right in front of him and beat him up.

The action scenes with Scott Adkins are great. That's all this movie has to offer.

I agree with the previous reviewer...The fighting scenes were so lame, like if they were made by ghetto men, the story is very unclear and controversial, the bloody massacre scenes were more of a horror movie.
