"Under cover of night" is another sad example of a movie with an awful blend of comedy and drama, rather upsetting because there's no logical continuity. What a sleepy cheapie.
... is all I can say about the villain in this one.
When a devoted professor and scientist (Sara Haden) discovers the truth about her philandering professor husband (Henry Daniell), he develops a devious scheme to keep her from leaving and taking her experiments with her. Daniell, playing one of the cruelest urbane villains on film, literally wills her to death without any evidence to make it appear to be murder.
Made me angry when the dog was thrown out the window. Lost interest in the film immediately.
