The Watch is basically Ghostbusters, mixed with The Hangover, and a few vigilante tropes. Milquetoast Evan(Ben Stiller) is the manager of the local Costco who takes it upon himself to form a neighborhood watch after his friend/night watchmen is killed.
And I've enjoyed my share of scat jokes and comedies. And they can be funny, if executed probably.
Take a look at the cast, that should tell you that you're in for some laughs. Aliens invade the local Costco,,,Go watch it!

(Plot) Four losers who are bored with their every day lives, decide to form a neighborhood watch group. They get more than they bargained for when they have to protect earth from aliens.
This movie takes unlikely heroes who join the neighborhood (actually the town) watch, each for his own reason and with his own issues, throws them together into the unexpected where they are forced to work together to save mankind from aliens and deal with their personal life while they are at it.The movie combines American humor (Ben Steller, Vince Vaughn and etc.
****SPOILERS**** Somewhat ridicules horror movie that doesn't seem to know where its going and ends up, with its off the wall surprise ending,more confusing then ever.We get to see Cassie, Clea Duvall, in trying to finish her post graduate thesis on the subject of total isolation sent packing by her collage and put in this observation tower in the scenic Ohekawan Forest for a month.
The Watch is a better than average comedy with a pretty stupid storyline ,but a very strong comedic cast make up for that. I felt this movie had so much more potential,the idea of Ben Stiller,Jonah Hill,Vince Vaughn and Richard Ayoade starting a neighborhood watch together and fighting against aliens sounded like something that could have been a really funny movie.
I thought this movie was hilarious and entertaining. The aliens were actually pretty cool and Scary.
