When Mr.

Carter goes to take a shower after Miss Milligan returns home from work, he is shown wearing a bathrobe, socks and slippers.

As he enters the bathroom, he removes his bathrobe, and then gets into the shower.

But is he still wearing his socks? He must be, because he isn't shown taking them off.

Connie mentions to Dingle that she can provide him a ride downtown, stating her regular routine being that she is the first person to be picked up by her ride, and after her there are three other passengers to be picked up.

However when her ride arrives, there are already two passengers in the car (in addition to the driver) and the car is only a four-seater.

Connie explains to Benjamin in great detail the morning schedule for the apartment, which she has written down for him and from which she is reading to him.

When it comes time to go through the routine for the first time, Connie chastises him for not bringing in the newspaper.

This task is on his written instructions, but she did not mention it in her detailed verbal instruction when she was reading off the copy.

Connie is in Mr.

Dingles room having a discussion.

They are both in pajamas.

The top button of Connie's PJ top is unbuttoned.

As she turns to her left to go to the next room the top button is buttoned and there are no gaps between buttons as before.

Clearly not enough "real time" to have fixed it.

After Joe gives Connie the travel bag and prepares to leave, she asks if he is going back to California.

He replies, "No, Africa".

The audio has been dubbed, as he as he is clearly not saying "Africa".

Reviews

The More The Merrier represents the screwball genre adapting for the war years however this was at the end of the genre's original run. I wonder why there were not more screwball comedies made during the war period?

I only came across this movie recently as it was shown on TMC. What a treat!

The World War 11 housing shortage in Washington, D.C.

I guess I'm out of sync on this one. This film gets high marks from most sources, but not for me.

From the first scene I knew that The More the Merrier was my kind of comedy. Charles Coburn is fast with a number of witty one-liners that kept making me laugh.

Katharine Hepburn in one of her rare interviews stated George Stevens , legendary director, was at his best in comedy. Who am I to argue with the great Kate?

This movie considering when made was quie amusing. Great acting with predictable scenes but still fun to watch.

It's been a while since I saw this movie, yet I was literally laughing out loud right from the beginning. Charles Coburn is terrific playing the tenant/matchmaker.

I recommend dakota_linda ("Delightful if not quite perfect", dakota_linda from United States, 14 June 2009) and denscul ("A really funny 'war' movie about the housing shortage in Washington", denscul from virginia, 21 January 2007). Both writers express their praise for "The More the Merrier" (TMM) very well.
