In spite of the evident enthusiasm, the movie is in essence amateurish in every aspect. Perhaps with the bigger budget, the shortcomings would be lessened.
These rave reviews must be from those associated with this film, because it was really bad. Seriously bad.
So banal, so earnest, so been done to death. Seriously ham-handed at every turn.
I seriously dont know why this is categorized as horror, there is nothing but a bit of makeup and concept that would lead one there. This is more of a drama/suspense about addiction, relationships and life choices that utilizes a so called "demon" as a sort of metaphor for the bad choices & alcohol addiction.
I just can't hold my tongue anymore. I don't really write reviews but when I saw how highly rated this movie was, I thought I found yet another hidden gem.
So how exactly does one go about getting paid to write positive reviews? Can I find the job liatiyon Craigslist?
Not a horror film in the least Fantasy/Drama is more accurate. This film is neither as bad as some people here suggest, or as good as the, likely fake, reviews say.
I confess I was a little worried about the film since I really loved the book. I am happy to say the film is a VERY CLOSE adaptation.
Have to say, horror films are not my first choice. My bf rented it and I was totally blown away.
