Suburbicon

Suburbicon Viewed at 2027 Venice film fextival. Director George Clooney has outdone himself with a superb satire of middle American suburbia in 1959.

The movie setting looks absolutely perfect but what lies beneath is not that great... Nice well told intrigue, mixing some reality into it (white fifties suburbia & severe racism) and the actors do a very good job.

Norman Lear was right. It was an angry, angry movie.

This felt so hollow to me. The makings of something great, bits and pieces that should add up to an entertaining whole.

I've been thinking about it all day. This movie tackles thrillers and, not unusually for Coen Brothers movies, their contempt for the other practitioners in the genre stand out.

This was recommended to me and I really enjoyed it, it's got everything, lots of comedy, great story, gangster stuff, violence (slightly comedic) drama and really good acting by all concerned, the bad guys are particularly good.

I don't really liked that movie. Even after a hour of watching i couldn't tell you if this was a funny or a serious movie, which made it very complicated to enjoy it.

If you are looking for something very different, then this is it. What a very very strange movie.
