Emilie Janzen (Dedee Pfeiffer) has a superpower of seeing visions when she touches people or things. She's separated from her husband for 2 years.
This movie was OK. It wasn't very predictable, the mother's 'sight' was a bit cookie cutter, and the girl was a major brat in the beginning.
Interesting that she had never had visions until her daughters was kidnapped, and makes total sense. Dormat abilities will often react that way.
I have to say, Seventeen & Missing is much better than I expected. The perception I took from the previews was that it would be just humdrum but I was pleasantly surprised with this impressive mystery.
I'm a fan of TV movies in general and this was one of the good ones. The cast performances throughout were pretty solid and there were twists I didn't see coming before each commercial.
I have to say I am really surprised at the high ratings for this movie. I found it to be absolutely idiotic.
This one covers all of the Lifetime movie bases: Lifetime Heroine (LH), Rebellious Teen (RT), and Lifetime Psycho (LP). The only thing missing was the Guy Perpetually in Need of a Shave (GPNS).
