After viewing the first 25 minutes of this nerdy little movie I was thinking of shutting it down, thinking I had better things to do with my time. But, I kept watching and wow it was something.
Daniel Yoon did a brilliant job of infusing humor, wit, creativity and life-giving joy to a situation that -- you'd think -- isn't all that cheery. I can see why it won an award.
This is a really wonderful comedy. It is light, insightful, funny, sorrowful, pleasing, and amusing, all at the same time.
I saw this film in Waterville, Maine in the Summer of 2000. It was very funny in a gentle, self effacing way.
I saw this film last year at a local film festival and really enjoyed it. It was funny but none of the humor was mean spirited and it was touching without being overtly sentimental.
I love this film. It's charming, thought provoking and honest.
