Reviews

Great show, nice character arc and very well written.

This group of friends, with its flashbacks to how they became the friends they are, along with how the main character owns his issue and deals with it, you see the growth of characters in a much different way than shows like 'Friends' and the like. It's a refreshing new view on the friend group show/romcom series.

This is a very fine romantic comedy, and if it reminds us of a Woody Allen film, then guess why! It is written and directed by Allen's friend and colleague Marshall Brickman, who wrote Allen's famous films ANNIE HALL (1977), for which he won an Oscar, and MANHATTAN (1979, see my review), for which he was nominated for an Oscar, as well as his earlier film SLEEPER (1973), and twenty years later, Allen's MANHATTAN MURDER MYSTERY (1993).

After a full day of coronavirus news my husband and I were undecided whether to drink the coolaid now or deal with our predicted death by pneumonia more pro-actively by watching SCROTAL RECALL. We're not the aimed at demographic (clearly) but we took option B - so glad we did.

I don't know why it took me so long to watch this movie - maybe because of its title and that the first scene started with the main character being told he has chlamydia. But it is actually a lovely comedy with lots of romance and subplots Some of the characters are irritating but in a very nice way, you would wish they were your friends too.

I can't believe it took me this long to start watching this show. And then I watched all 3 seasons in 2 days.

It always amazes me seeing the Folk legend that is Johnny Flynn doing sitcoms and nailing it (New album please Mr. FLynn) The title suggests this is more low brow than it actually is and this may have put many people off but if they give it a chance they won't be disappointed because this is clever, touching and funny.

"Lovesick" has a few witty lines, but just a few. And two top actor roles have just a little substance and fun in them.

Loved Ali, loved Matt, the other cast is fine. If you're fans of theirs you'll wish they had chosen a better project.
