Goofs

When Jack pours the group's first glass of purified water, the glass of water changes between shots.

When "Bones" is looking into the discharge of the machine, his hearing protection is gone.

In the shot before we see his eye through the pipe, he has them on his head.

When they cut back to the view behind him, they are totally gone.

During the airstrike, two aircraft are show flying in, an F-14 and an F-111 but only the F-111 is shown bombing the scud site.

When Sgt.

Stern and his buddies capture Bones, Jack, Christine, and Fred while they are filtering water, they yank Jack and Christine down under the water.

The two were in shallow enough water to stand up in about knee length water, but the Sgt.

Stern and his posse yank Christine and Jack straight down, when they should have fallen backwards, forward, or to either side.

If they were yanked down, they wouldn't go down because they were standing on some sort of surface.

When the group calls for the second airstrike, their sergeant states that a group of F-111s is headed their way.

However, when the aircraft arrive, it is a group of combat helicopters, not F-111 fighter jets.

- PLOTAt a party back home, Bones mentions to his then girlfriend that "he" (his penis) hadn't seen her in 8 weeks, yet he's apparently already fully trained in water purification.

After 8 weeks of basic training, an additional 10 weeks of training is required to become a Water Treatment Specialist (the official MOS title).

The snake encountered at the oasis appears to be an Indochinese spitting cobra (Naja siamensis), which is not native to Africa.

You can tell that Christine's m16a3 rifle is unloaded after she shoots a very short automatic burst at the Libyans, she would still have some ammunition left in the magazine.

At 1:24:34 when Jack hands Bones the bazooka, he hands it to him backwards, but when Bones stands up, it's facing the right way.

Reviews

I remember watching it in 1995 as a kid and always wanted to rewatch it again. In 2019 some how found it on YouTube and enjoyed it very much.

It's sad that Paulie Shore isn't more remembered than he is, since he brought us a lot of good times. His movies are part of my childhood and growing up, and at the time, he definitely serves as one of the better role models we had out there.

Pauly Shore is amazing. His outrageous personality and unique take on humor make this movie very entertaining and irresistible This movie is the kind that every time you watch it it gets better.

In the Army Now reminds me a little of the Corey Haim/Corey Feldman film Last Resort. Both came out in the year 1994, and both have potential to be very enjoyable works of farce, they fail in taking themselves seriously.

In the Army Now confirmed in my mind that Pauly Shore is one of the worst actors out there. He is not the least bit funny nor entertaining.

How can anyone berate a movie so funny., give me a break.

Whatever happened to Pauley Shore? I guess he's still around but you didn't hear much from him after this movie, which was a decent success.

I loved the movie for a lot of reasons. Pauly Shore and David Alan Grier, for example.
