Despite the finale taking place at 11pm, it's obviously broad daylight.

I'd never heard of actor Pittman, but it turns out he was quite a talented, though ill-fated, young guy. Here he goes from painfully shy to confidently assertive in abrupt, but convincing, fashion.

There seems to be a time in the 50s and 60s where a sub genre of exploitation film (though there may be those who object to my use of the term) existed involving teenagers who drift into crime. I assume that this was part of some kind of shock value but I'm really not sure.

At this time, everything just got so redundant in movies as people were just obsessed with making movies about giant leeches, gila monsters, praying mantises and everything in between. It actually was nice to see some variety in B-movies at this time with something completely real.

Marv needs money. His unemployed dad is so poor that he makes Marv give up half his last six bucks so they can both go on three-dollar dates.

This is a low budget late fifties era movie, the sort dealing with juveniles in a delinquent social environment. There is a lot one can say about this film.

It's funny, but I can't believe this film has an overall score below 2.0!!

High School Big Shot (1959) ** (out of 4) Drive-in era drama about a nerdy teen who gets his shot at the big time when he hears about a million dollar drop off. If you're a fan of these teenage "B" films of the 50s then this here is certainly one of the better ones but we're certainly a long way off from Rebel Without a Cause.

Badly acted, cheaply made, insipidly written. Those are just a few comments which I could make about this wretched good teen turned hood exploitation mess made primarily for the drive-in crowd, and even the worst of those was a step above this.

This movie was amazing! First off, everyone dies!
