Heintje - Einmal wird die Sonne wieder scheinen

I watched the movie twice. Today, I watch it for the third time.

I was shocked to see that this movie's rating is so low.In case you don't know, this movie was super popular when it was played in China during the early 80's.

In the west,this film may be easily neglected as time goes by.But amazingly,HEINTJE would definitely be crowned as one of the memorable western films on Chinese screen even from today's perspective.

I was 16 when I saw this movie and you wouldn't expect a 16 yr old male to like it but I did. In the midst of all my teenage angst, I liked the movie because Heintje was clean, simple, happy and systematic as opposed to his father's fuzziness - all the characteristics I would have liked to be instead of being rebellious, dark and moody.

"Einmal wird die Sonne wieder scheinen", which basically means that the sun will shine again one day, is a West German 95-minute movie from 1970, so this one is already over 45 years old and it is the second of three Heintje films from within 2 years, not counting his appearance in the Lümmel films. He was popular enough during that time, so that people today still know his name very well.

Having had grown up and lived in China through 1980's, I share the sentiment for the movie by several reviewers of the Chinese origin. I don't know a single person then who didn't love the handsome, caring, optimistic and courageous boy with a golden voice.

For anyone who was around back in 1970, esp. in Germany, this movie is a real nostalgia bomb.

I watched it when I was a college student in China in the early 80s. As the Chinese culture was devastated in the Cultural Revolution, we the mainlanders sang a lot of foreign songs in those years---songs from "Sound of Music," songs by Deng Lijun, the famous Taiwanese singer, songs from some Indian movies and the songs from this movie which is translated into Chinese as "Ying1 Jun4 Shao4 Nian2" (The Handsome Young Man).

I saw the movie when I was still a young kid (younger than Heintje in the movie) in China and honestly couldn't remember much other than it's a nice movie. But the song "Kleine Kinder, kleine Sorgen" from this movie was my favorite.
