This is the second film I have seen from Australian-raised director Connie Chen. The first was Bruce Lee Played Badminton Too, which took a sporting story, made it light and yet still had some cultural assumption material in there too.
Happy country is great, I laughed aloud at the Rudd quip and at the baked beans flashback. Love the balance between the humor and the serious themes within, love the attention to maternal instinct and the dedication to parent hood.
