Formosa Betrayed

As a native Taiwanese,here are my opinion:1.The "Taiwanese" in the film can not speak Mandarin Chinese like the locals(Taiwanese).

After watched your film, "Formosa Betrayed," I have another great idea for you. It is for you to make your next daring one.

FORMOSA BETRAYED is better as teaching material than it is a thriller. It's an unashamedly political movie that aims to explore the complex and often murky goings-on in early 1980s Taiwan, where government-sponsored assassinations were more often than not the norm and where the secret war with China continued unabated.

It's 1983. University professor Henry Wen is killed in Chicago.

Very good political thriller inspired by two actual events, how a complex web of politics, identity, and power affects the lives and destinies of all the citizens in Taiwan. Although set in the 1980s, this is also an appropriate depiction of America's current political climate, I think, concerning the China-Taiwan conflict namely the Republic of China (ROC) and the People's Republic of China (PRC).

I read some other reviews of this movie. I don't get it.

A lot of once A-list actors, now str8 2 video B-list actors, have gotten their own str8-2-video secret agent vehicle. I had just scene "I CAME IN WITH THE RAIN" and "RAINFALL" both excellent Jason Bourne knock-offs with an Asian flavor to them.

It is wonderful to see a film about the heroic struggle of the people of Taiwan for democracy and independence, even if I and my wife were the only people in theater at a 7:20 p.m.

Many Americans likely know little or nothing about Taiwan, let alone Formosa, the same place with a less familiar name -- not much about the political complexities of the post World War II to 1983 era. Not only will we learn a great deal, but the FBI hero of this movie will find out his seemingly easy assignment there will lead him to a complicated web of intrigue -- he's have to learn by bits and pieces as the story progresses.
