Burt Reynolds, Jon Voight, Ronny Cox, and Ned Beatty star as four friends from Atlanta going on a canoe trip down river in a remote wilderness in Georgia. The valley will soon be flooded by a new dam, so the men want one last adventure while they still can.

This is one of the few classic films I would like to see remade. Just for fun viewing of course.

Finally sat down and watched Deliverance for the first time after years of using it for fodder for jokes. Even discounting the best known scenes, what a particularly awful movie.

I've heard from many people that this film is an absolute classic, and in many ways I would agree. It holds up well with snappy dialogue, great performances from the four main actors, and brilliant direction and cinematography in a beautiful natural setting.

I expected this to be a fun adventure but it turned out to be another traumatizing experience (double feature with Murmur of the Heart wasn't a good idea). The movie dragged at the beginning and I wasn't really invested into it until that moment came and I was like what is happeningggg???

I first saw this on a vhs in the 90s, then on a vcd in 2006 n finally on a blu-ray. It's an extremely disturbing film especially the scene with Ned Beatty.

Why has the movie industry and hollycrap changed so much since the good days of the 70s. These directors and actors were just brilliant.

"Deliverance" is often seen as a shocker, but that's really sort of a hasty conclusion. Yeah, at one point Ned Beatty gets savagely raped by some rednecks, but that's one brief scene in 110 minutes.

When I first started watching this movie I had absolutely no idea what I was in for. Just heard very good things about this movie so decided to check it out.
