Reviews

Of course, the title of this review will only make sense to those familiar with the pop song of the same name by Norwegian popsters A-ha. The cheesy song, warbled with gusto by the angular faced Morten Harket, is considerably better than the film of the same name.

I think this movie is highly underrated. Errol Flynn and Barbara Stanwyck have great chemistry and both turned in superb performances.

Really keen to find a copy (if one exists!).

I just barely liked this, and I felt I would love it, since I adore film noir, and the work of both of the leads. To me, both Errol Flynn and Barbara Stanwyck are very charismatic people--they should have had, regardless of which side they were acting (good or bad), smouldering chemistry if on the same side, or been extremely volatile if opposing each other.

I'm in two minds about CRY_WOLF. I appreciate the fact that it was a film trying to do something different in breathing new life and style into a rather tired genre, but looking back I'm not a fan of the look-at-us-aren't-we-clever type stuff and the rather ridiculous triple-twist ending, which sees any believability the film may have had remaining go right out of the window.

The hole 2001 did it better , god I've never seen a movie this predictable .. couldn't they try morethe main characters are beyond boring ..

The reviews for the movie were mostly unflattering. The plot was predictable, the "twists" and "surprises" weren't entirely twisty or surprising enough.

Barbara Stanwyck and Errol Flynn are two of the most dynamic screen personalities of their time, so I had to watch this one. And I wasn't disappointed, I was glued to the screen to see if Flynn was really up to no good.

Let's get the awkward elephant out into the open: Barbara Stanwyck looks much older than Errol Flynn in Cry Wolf, yet she's supposed to be young enough to have married his nephew. Honestly, that's the biggest problem with the movie, so if that won't bother you, go ahead and rent it.
