Goofs

When Coraline falls asleep on the picture frame, at first it is facing down, but when the shot changes it has flipped to facing up.

When Other Father starts playing the piano, the piano gloves go on his hands while he is facing Coraline.

After he turns around, the gloves switch hands.

When Coraline firsts sees her father, she places the Coraline doll down on a box.

In the shot, the Coraline doll's arm is hanging over the edge, but in the next shot, the doll's arm is by its side.

While Coraline is eating dinner with her "other parents" she has an empty glass and a full water glass.

When Coraline is shown again the water glass is half empty and again when Coraline is shown there is no water glass present at all.

When Coraline first looks at the picture frame next to her bed, the "3" from "at 7:30" is missing and "Coraline" is spelled "Coral1n3" on the depicted sign.

In the next shot, when she holds the frame in her hands, it says "7:30" and "Coral1ne".

The first dinner at the "other mother's" is clearly a turkey, but the characters call it chicken.

Bobinsky is Russian, but the flag in front of his door is Montenegran, with one minor differenceThe real one has a lion passant in the centre, while Mr.

Bobinsky's has a horseman.

Watch very closely during the opening as the hands unstuff the doll, and restuff it.

When you see the doll inside out in full, look down at her feet, with the heel stitches on the same side of the body as the face.

(at around 52 mins) During the Other Forcible's trapeze act when she says "In action like an angel" the lines where the puppet's head comes apart are clearly visible.

After Coraline acquires the last of the eyes of the ghost children and the Other World begins to disintegrate around her, the camera quickly moves up to reveal everything around the house is vanishing.

In the beginning of that shot, we can plainly see that the metal stairs leading up to the attic apartment of the Other Bobinsky are missing and rightfully back in the very next shot.

Right before Coraline discovers the door, she drops her notebook, and just in one screen shot you can see the wires holding it up.

Where Wybie asks Coraline to take his photo, and then hands her his camera, a flash goes off but there is no flash attached to the camera and the Leica M3 has no built in flash.

Reviews

Great story and fantastic fantasy animation. That both children and adults can enjoy this movie proves its excellence.

It's rare to see a western horror animated film. This one is made with stop-motion animation, all the things you see are practical hand made effects.

Simply gorgeous. A film that will delight viewers young and young at heart without taxing the brain too much.

It was okay. But overall kinda weak compared to the book.

I think i've watched this for over 50 times since i was little (like 11) and i'm now 19 years old. I was obsessed with the dark and creepy theme of the movie as well as the gloomy atmosphere and i think that was the first indication that i was going to be a horror movie fan.

There's a reason the eponymous girl is repeatedly misnamed "Caroline." "Coraline" is thoroughly a rearranging of Lewis Carroll's Alice books.

There's a balance of intrigue yet eerie esa in this film. Caroline's less than happy to be moving into her new home.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE! What is there to say except it's amazing!?

Pros: 1. The animation is really beautiful, and its unique imagery still holds up 11 years later.
