Comanche Station is the last of the brilliant Boetticher-Scott-Kennedy (Ranown) collaboration, and it's probably just as well. Judging from the results here, the material is wearing a little thin.

Comanche Station is produced and directed by Budd Boetticher and stars Randolph Scott, Claude Akins, Nancy Gates, Skip Homeier & Richard Rust. It's written by Burt Kennedy with music and cinematography from Mischa Bakaleinikoff & Charles Lawton Jr.

Could have rightly been titled "Ride Lonesome, Again", as in the first and last scenes, Scott is leisurely riding alone through a rocky wilderness, in this last teaming with Bud Beotticher. As in the previous "Ride Lonesome", Randy eventually finds himself traveling with a young married woman and 3 other men of dubious character.

Budd Boettcher was scorned at America meanwhile he was highly assessed by Cashier du Cinema in France, then the American starts pay attention on his unique westerns, Comanche Station is regarded by Clint Eastwood the best Boettcher's movie, which he has just Randolph Scott to making those marvelous pictures, always in tight budge with few secondary actors, the plot is about a lonely wandering mature man Jefferson Cody who learn that a captive woman Nancy Lowe (Nancy Gates) at Comanche's hands, he quickly entered in their territory to make a fair trade with them, the offers is accepts by the Comanche's chief, thus they headed to a Comanche Station which has a regular stagecoach line, however Ben's gang was trying to do the same trade, too late, instead to just turn around they stolen a mule from Comanche who chase them that ends up at Comanche Station, now they needs each other to get out of this place surround by angry Indians, Ben Lane (Claude Akins) actually is a crook an old acquaintance of Cody on US's Calvary, who was spelled by a court martial, his follows friends also is colorful characters Frank (Skip Homeier) which is devoid of intelligence and Dobie (Richard Rust) a boy with basic principles whose have esteem by Cody, in this long way home Nancy and Cody has mutual respect that slowing becoming in love, having as backdrop the rocky ground at Alabama hills and Lone Pine as Boettcher's favorite shooting place!!Resume:First watch: 2013 / How many: 2 / Source: DVD / Rating: 8.

Upon hearing that a white woman has been captured by the Comanches, "Jefferson Cody" (Randolph Scott) rides to their camp with the hope of trading some goods for her release. As it turns out the woman, "Nancy Lowe" (Nancy Gates) has had a $5000 reward put out by her husband for her return.

A fine, fine movie. It's a movie about a man on a quest to find his wife who was abducted by the Indians.

I have really enjoyed Randolph Scott's presence in films at both both bookends of his career, having previously seen him in the pre-Code 'Hot Saturday' (1932) and his last film, Sam Peckinpah's first great film, 'Ride the High Country' (1962), as well as a few in between ('Pittsburgh', 'Virginia City' and 'My Favorite Wife' most readily come to mind), so I thought it was high time to visit some of his most influential films, the Western collaborations with Budd Boetticher.Scott has a really unique presence in these films.

Mysterious westerner Randolph Scott (as Jefferson Cody) arrives in Comanche Territory (in or around Texas) to exchange goods for beautiful brunette Nancy Gates (as Nancy Lowe), who was abducted and turned into a White squaw (sex partner) for someone in the tribe. Her husband is offering $5,000 for Ms.

"Comanche Station" rides into "The Searchers" territory, but also feels a little like the funky television westerns of the 1960's such as Steve McQueen's "Wanted Dead or Alive" or Nick Adams "The Rebel".When Jefferson Cody (Randolph Scott) rescues Nancy Lowe (Nancy Gates) from the Comanche their troubles are just starting when they meet up with a trio of outlaws led by Ben Lane (Claude Atkins).
