When Casey pulls the lamp out of the wall the power socket sparks, but the power is out in the house.

When Geoffrey comes out of the Clown Show tent to look for Casey, you can see the shadow of the camera.

The film supposedly takes place a few weeks before Halloween, yet the calendar in the mom and pop store is set to May.

After Casey exits, Cheezo gets back to the ring, but when Geoffrey goes after him, Cheezo is still in the audience.

While at the Clown Show, the spotlight shines just on Casey's face even before they shine it on him.

When Casey and Geoffrey are in the bedroom together they lock the door after hearing Randy trying to scare them from downstairs.

However after they hear the glass breaking they walk up to the door and turn the key anti-clockwise yet the door is now unlocked.

Reviews

It's not often that I find it near impossible to sit through a mainstream film, but this one was an exception. Obviously made to cash in on the scary clown phase of the late '80s (Stephen King's IT was doing the rounds at this time as well) the film is so tame in its approach, I'm surprised it was even rewarded the 15 certificate that it got.

So, I specifically set up an account to say this: I loved this movie. Genuinely creepy and well worth the watch.

I've scarcely seen many other slashers in my time that have displayed such a masterfully effective use of shadows and suspense as this one does. The picture is basically a series of various set-ups of suspenseful situations and that, coupled with the eerie ambiance is what I think it does the best and is what I love the most about it.

Putting aside all the controversy surrounding this film (including the events that actually transpired behind the scenes), I went into this movie at face value with no bias. I knew it was a slasher and the directorial debut of Victor Salva, so I was expecting a low-grade horror movie that, while not important in the grand scheme of cinema, would be entertaining enough to make me jump a few times and root for the main characters.

Funhouse or Dark Ride are just fun and that's kind of what this one is. Though the cussing is annoying by the brothers and nearly over the top, its like oh my god kill him already.

I know that seen this movie before, I could not remember much about so gave it another, it's been Years since, I see it. This sure felt like this movie was made for kids.

This is a movie in the tradition of Super 8 or ET or Stranger things. It's an almost perfectly composed family horror movie.

Victor Salva was CONVICTED of m0lesting a twelve year old in this film? Well, it's true, and it is not slander or defamation because it is a fact now, to answer if this contains spoilers.

"Clownhouse" is a film that takes me back to my childhood. For me "Clownhouse" is a great 80's horror film.
