Goofs

The position of the women during the wedding sequence changes constantly.

When Juliette and Tariq are walking amongst the ancient trees, Juliette's left hand changes position.

The Everly Brothers' song "('Til) I Kissed You" is heard on the soundtrack when Juliette and Mark ride in the cab towards the end of the film.

The song is incorrectly listed as "Then I Kissed Her" in the credits.

In the storyline, they are supposed to be visiting the sphinx/pyramids at dawn.

The sun is shown low on the horizon, but clearly in the WEST, so the scene must have been shot at sunset.

Reviews

A woman waits for her husband in Cairo. He meets a local, but nothing happens.

This movie should be shown in schools as a masterclass in film-making. Everything about this movie oozes a plausible, realistic sensuality.

The red threat of this movie is known: some Thursday's in 'Brief Encounter', some days in 'The Bridges in Madison County'. If something in a marriage is vulnerable and has to be repaired before the unrepairable option of divorce: here is an example to repair before ...

I admit I have so far only watched half of this film, because I found it so flat as to be narcoleptic rather than just soporific.I often love slow paced films (I run a film group and the last film was 2046) but when the acting is so torpid and the story full of incongruous details I loose patience and no amount of decent cinematography can save the day.

An example of concept triumphing over delivery. Ruba Nadda has a lot she wants to say, but only raises signposts towards those ideas without really exploring any of them.

"Cairo Time" is inept and inert, a criminal waste of talent and material. Alexander Siddig is handsome and charismatic as Tareq, an Egyptian café owner who shepherds a married American tourist, Juliette, (Patricia Clarkson) around Cairo.

Patricia Clarkson gives a quiet, lovely performance in this quiet and lovely film.A sort of modern day mix up of two David Lean films -- "Summertime" and "Brief Encounter" -- "Cairo Time" stars Clarkson as the wife of a U.

I absolutely loved this movie. I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did as I had never really heard anything about this film.

It's another Lost In Translation (2003) story happened in Cairo, without any twist and turn, this essayistic flick patiently stews about 90 minutes, and perturbs our mind by the low- pitched performance by two leads. Set in Cairo, a city I haven't been yet but intrigues me in a fascinating way, I am prone to love the film since the first scene, there are no big conflicts in the film, a married middle-age woman meets a gentle and charming local man in an exotic place, they have feelings towards each other but the most intimate behavior between them is restricted to a courteous kiss.
