I first watched this movie a few years ago, when the cover art on the film caught my eye. I found it to be confusing the first time through, but nonetheless a really good film.

Joe Slaader (Sanderson) is a bizarre mountain man who happens to have his unborn dead twin grown into his back making him deformed and mad. After killing his family (Shown in flash cutting which is poorly executed and not watchable) Joe is brought to a asylum where young intern Edward (Yount) is anxious to experiment using his own secret methods.

Despite the absolutely atrocious acting in this film, the way it was told and visualized was pretty amazing, and very true to the Lovecraft story it came from. The effects used were low budget but still oddly impressive, and for a low budget film I thought it was pretty damn good overall.

And then I forgot and rented it again.Okay, so this is one of the few Lovecraft Adaptations that didn't star Jeffrey Combs.

Alright, with this having been released upon the world and mankind, I am sure that H.P.

This movie is the single greatest convergence of atrocious acting I've ever seen. I've watched individual actors give bad performances.

OK. It's conceded that this movie is very low budget, cheesy to the max, and just plain bad.

This movie was taken over by two things. The first was the difficult to decode, rapidly edited dream scenes.

Interestingly, when you look at the breakdown for how different demographics voted on the Intenet Movie Database, you will notice that the women voted this film about twice as good as men did in all age groups. I have no idea why this would be, but something to keep in mind, I suppose.
