When the fighters are holding the pressure pad for each other and Tommy kicks Virgil during this training session and sends Virgil flying to the ground, the black crash mat that he lands on to cushion his fall is visible, but when everybody rushes to see if Virgil is OK the crash mat has vanished.

In one of the training scenes early on in the movie, Virgil throws a flying kick at a speedbag.

He turns around, and his beard is shaved.

The next time Virgil appears, he has his beard again.

In the timeline of events, he does not officially shave his beard until right before the team leaves for Korea, near the end of the movie.

Reviews

This is a really great porno movie. In this we have some of the biggest stars doing some really nasty stuff.

This movie was mediocre. The ending really pissed me off cause in the end Tommy Lee could have finished the korean dude if he just shoved him a little.

I watched this movie as a young kid and fell in love with martial arts. I love this movie amd I have watched it so many times.

One of those films that comes out of nowhere and connects with everyone. There are a zillion fight films, a zillion martial arts films and if I am not mistaken even the UFC has lately taken to putting its brand on the occasional movie (Ugh).

Best of The Best is an underrated martial arts movie that starred Eric Roberts, Chris Penn, James Earl Jones and Phillip Rhee along with a good supporting cast that includes the beautiful Sally Kirkland.Anyway, this was a fun, cheesy martial arts film.

So I saw this back when I was a wee lad and even then I said the Taekwondo performed by the american team was questionable at best except for Tommy Lee. Now I'm watching in 2020 and have experienced life and things like bar fights and such.

If you are looking for a terrible movie to laugh along with, then it doesn't get any better than this. It has all the cliches form the 80s and just the right amount of continuity problems to keep you hooked fro the entire film.

Everyone knows that training montages are pivotal to an action movie, right? But what happens when a film forgets the 'montage' part and just gives us the training?

BEST OF THE BEST is an attempt to do for martial arts what ROCKY did for boxing. That is, it attempts to be a feel-good, character-based movie about endurance, loyalty and patriotism, wrapping it up into a crowd-pleasing package with some great tournament battles along the way.
