This was an underdog movie if ever i saw one. He (Beau Bridges) was wrongly accused of murder and forced to the Austrailia penal colony.

This is a LOVELY film. The perfect meshing of a good story, actors, and a gorgeous Australian setting.

I too once saw this movie and can not really understand why it is unavailable for purchase. Don't want to write a spoiler but it is one of the best movies I can remember with Beau Bridges and John Mills.

This movie had the traditional "war between the sexes". Overcoming adversity brought changes in the characters and their relationships.

This is one of my favorites! In addition to showing the deplorable situation of a convict in 18th century Australia, the movie shows how these very convicts settled the outback, much like American pioneers.

I saw this movie in 1973 in Chicago late one night on TV and was thoroughly taken with it! It's the kind of story that will last forever,-- so why is it impossible to find???

A young and handsome Beau Bridges is at his best in this film. Bridges plays Adam, an American wrongly accused of murder.

Beau Bridges is an engaging rogue in this movie about an American who becomes an Australian convict. Jane Merrow is excellent as his convict wife.
