Yep, that's what I said: this cartoon feature-length film featuring the beloved "Peanuts" gang is, like the comics of Schulz, a very realistic and intimate look inside the human psyche, not just of Charlie Brown, but of the Van Pelt kids.Charlie Brown believes he's a complete loser.

I really like the peanuts movies. There was one summer when I was a kid, I think it was 1984, they kept showing "A boy named charlie brown" and "snoopy come home" over and over again.

I'm an adult seeing this for the first time, and I have an adult viewpoint. Simply not good.

There are two films called A Boy Named Charlie Brown. First there was a TV documentary about Charles Schulz and Charlie Brown, that failed and never made it onto TV.

I'm probably one of the few who's actually seen this, here goes.As mentioned before, this is not the 1969 movie, but a 1963 (not 1965 as commonly believed) TV special on Schulz and his characters.

Charlie Brown is the kid that can't do anything right. His classmates tease him by singing Failure Face right in front of him.

I wasn't expecting Shakespeare, but the story of this film was very simplistic. Don't get me wrong, I liked all the characters and humour and I definitely wanted Charlie to succeed, but this film didn't offer much plot-wise.

Just like the holiday specials contained in the Peanuts Holiday Collection DVD, this was not bad, but I don't really connect with it. Big fans of the comic strip will definitely enjoy it, but it is not very funny and it can get tiresome after a while.

I'm conflicted about this film. rw5078987 omar_hojairi "Once Upon a Time...
