Irish writer
Irish dramatist and screenwriter, a former actor. In London from the early 1900s. Several of his plays were adapted for the screen. He wrote film scripts from 1922 and was active in Hollywood (1934-1939) under contract to MGM. Subsequently returned to Britain, working first at Elstree and then for the Ministry of Information on wartime propaganda.
The play by Monckton Hoffe opened on Broadway October 10, 1922 and ran for only 31 performances.
