Biography

Michael Fry is an assistant producer on multiple Hollywood films. Michael immigrated to the United States in 1994 knowing only two languages. After three years of homelessness and a short stint as an amateur farm model in an Albuquerque Feed N' Seed, Fry moved to Marietta, GA in 2001. Taking online courses at night and painting by day, Fry was able to become fluent in English in only 11 months, and enrolled in the prestigious John Sans Academy for high school. While there, Oprah Winfrey came to the school as part of a community outreach program to pull the school out of poverty and chose Michael out of the crowd to receive one of her monthly Oprah Book Club selections, which she signed. The inscription read, 'Good student, stay in school and do wonderful things!' Michael took this personal note to heart, studying the liberal arts and his first love obsessively. Finally, after years of ridicule at the hands of his more-privileged peers, Michael moved to Hollywood after being recommended by his franchise manager to co-manage a pop-up Subway off La Cienega Boulevard. Two months into his co-managing job at the Subway, a PA came in on lunch break from one of the new Beethoven movies filming in downtown LA and ordered over a dozen subs for fellow crew members. The PA noticed Fry's efficiency in his movements, delicacy in his assembly, and command of his employees, and invited him to intern as her assistant. Fry agreed, and from there worked his way up to assistant PA on several Hollywood films
