Born in Nashville, Tennessee and raised between Chicago, Illinois and Kentucky, Matt broke into acting at the age of five, performing in a plethora of stage-plays in theatres across the United States. He is the grandson of Emmy-winner, 'Burleigh Hines' . After a tenure in the theatre, he went on to book several commercials, before transitioning into theatrical acting, screenwriting and producing.
His grandfather is Emmy Award Winner, Burleigh Hines. Burleigh is the cousin of Quincy Jones, the iconic producer and composer.
Has a black-belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Has studied dance since age 10.
Moved to Los Angeles at age 18 to pursue acting full-time, after he graduated high school in his hometown of Kentucky.
His biological parents are divorced.
Is the oldest of 4 children.
