Matt Lasky

Biography

Matt was born in Waco, Texas, and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he found himself getting in trouble frequently throughout his early years. After dozens of fights, multiple arrests, one stint in state prison, a high speed chase that led to his friend being shot and the subsequent murder trial, Matt broke free of that lifestyle and found himself gravitating towards a career as an actor/filmmaker. This interest began when his older sister, an actress, introduced him to acting by getting him his first professional role on stage in Shakespeare's, "As you Like It" at age 17. Shortly after he turned 22, he drove from Maryland to Los Angeles to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts with only a few hundred dollars in his pocket and no plans for where he would live. After 3 years on an inflatable bed in the living room of a Koreatown apartment, Matt received a degree in theater from AADA and spent a year as a member of their theater company . Matt supported his early years by working with developmental disabilities and later, children with autism, a position he still volunteers in. He got his SAG card in 2007 and has been working ever since.
