Mark STANLEY is an experimental musician based in Maryland. A multi-instrumentalist and producer, his primary instrument is guitar, on which he touches a wide mix of styles, including jazz, psychedelia, avant-pop, and avant progressive rock. Beginning his recording career with a number of band projects (Farquhar (1999), Spirit Gang (2001)), STANLEY began recording under his own name with two albums in 2002, "Insect Warriors" (instrumental fusion) and "Blueberry Submarines" (poppy avant prog, with Stanley alone overdubbing himself). In addition to his solo/bandleader work (The Mark Stanley Band, The Mark Stanley Quartet), STANLEY also has continued to record with various grouping of musicians under a variety of band names.
