Dr. Mothersbaugh has reciprocated KSU in diverse fashion as is his style-- gifting it with music & art, as well as time-- which is spent touting the Kent State experience through public promotions & media spots.

Lead singer of Devo.

Accomplished gallery artist whose paintings and drawings are popular in the "low brow" school of art (Richard Williams, Todd Shore, Coop, etc.). Some of his paintings have incorporated floresecent pigments in luminescent (glow-in-the-dark) base.

Brother of Robert Mothersbaugh and Jim Mothersbaugh.

Videos for songs such as "Whip It", "Freedom of Choice", "Satisfaction", "Love without Anger", "Beautiful World", and "Through Bein Cool" were staples of MTVs rotation in its early months on the air. Some of those videos can be seen today on the digital-cable channel VH1 Classics.

Long after the break-up of his band Devo , Mothersbaugh has gone on to become one of Hollywoods most respect film composers, having done the musical scores to all of Wes Anderson s scored films and the theme from the TV show, "Rugrats" , among others. He employs most of his former Devo bandmates for these projects.

Despite that the suggestion his thick glasses are a stage image, he needs them badly to see and has been severely near-sighted his whole life, so much so that he was nearly declared legally blind as a child.

He is a skilled multi-instrumentalist who can be heard playing a wide variety of instruments on his soundtracks and on Devo songs. He was primarily the "lead" keyboard player and lead singer in Devo, but can heard playing guitar and various other (including experimental) instruments on Devo tracks.

The 4 central members of Devo re-united in 2006 or 2007 and toured through the next few years. In 2010, they released their first album together ("Something for Everybody") in 20 years.

Formed "Mutato Muzika" in the early Nineties. They score television and films.
