Mario Russo was born and raised in Queens New York. His love of film-making began the very first time he saw the Back to the Future Trilogy, ever since he was trying to figure out what aspect of the industry he wanted to be a part of. After a lighting class he attended at Borough of Manhattan Community College, the concept of using light as an artistic medium on film gripped him right away as he started to realize light and angles in a completely different way that anyone else would. At present he has been working closely with independent film director and CEO of Kinetik Films Kemuel Butler on various shorts and most recently what will be their first feature together "Three Bad Apples.
