He has written, directed and edited over 50 films for networks such as PBS, Lifetime , USA and numerous major and regional Sports Networks. Marino has been nominated for four Emmy Awards, won the prestigious Western Heritage Award and awards at the New York Film Festival. Recent successful productions while partnering talents with MyMar Entertainment resulted in the ground-breaking, award-winning docudrama "Jackie Robinson: My Story", which won Best Film at 2 prestigious Film Festivals. The same team of Marino and MyMar just completed a 30 minute series pilot, "Pray For Us Sinners." Set in the early 1960's, its satirical nostalgia is narrated by older Anthony who reflects with sarcasm mostly about himself, as we watch a show featuring an 8 year old boy from 1960s Brooklyn who has to deal with the nuns at Catholic School, while living with an older bitchy sister, his middle class parents as well as his loud Italian immigrant grandparents. And that's just in one apartment in the Brooklyn building. This is a great series for the older than millennial Baby Boomer. Marino Amoruso has also written nine books: 5 non-fiction and four novels, with screenplays ready for film adaptation
