Biography

Mariela Campo is an Interior Designer, Production Designer and Set Decorator with a degree from Parsons School of Design. She works in both interior design and production design for TV and film in Canada and the U.S. Her projects have included CTV Toronto, BBC New York, HGTV Canada, The Space Channel and The Canadian Film Centre. Mariela was Production Designer for the supernatural thriller feature film Adams Testament, starring Degrassi's Luke Bilyk and Orphan Black's Zoe de Grand Maison, due for release in early 2016. She was also Set Decorator and Prop Master for the horror indie film festival hit Berkshire County. Prior to that, she was Production Designer for the award-winning Lunchbox Loser, a 1990's-set dark comedy. A former DJ and Music Publicist, she has lived in New York, Paris, Barcelona, and Montréal and is based in her home city of Toronto. Fluent in Spanish and French, her work is often influenced by her travels. She is also inspired by the Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Bauhaus movements, as well as the Victorian gothic and science fiction genres and Japanese culture and design. On-camera, Mariela appeared as a design finalist on Designer Superstar Challenge, which aired to 5.6 million viewers on HGTV Canada.
