In 1998, the Swedish Union for Theatre, Artists and Media awarded her their Gold Medal for her "exceptional artistic accomplishments".
Has a daughter: Lotta Hammar.
The last four New-years-eves of her life, she declamed the poem "Nyrsklockorna" at Skansen in Stockholm.
Had an extremely good memory: she only had to read a manuscript once to remember it.
After her death, a journalist wrote: "The only role that she didnt really managed to play was the role as herself".
A statue of her is erected outside Stockholms Royal Dramatic Theater - in the corner where she often stood smoking.
