Biography

Magi Loucks is a professional classically trained actor, singer, writer, and comedic improvisor who 'moves well.' Backstage West described her as "the killer singing voice," covering everything from legit theatre to jazz standards to Celtic folksongs. She has performed on every type of stage, TV, and film set there is, except porn. International theatre credits include Peg, the boxer, in the European Premiere of Fighting Words, a performance the Los Angeles Times called "uniformly mesmerizing... Loucks is a mobile made out of tensile wire, fixed in place but spinning with compressed energy." Theatre in Wales as a rehearsal actor and singer, pairing her in comedy sketches with the likes of Neil Patrick Harris, Jimmy Fallon, Conan O'Brien, Jane Lynch, Ben Stiller, Kevin Spacey, Jason Sudeikis and Anthony Jeselnik, and improv-hosting shows like the Golden Globe Awards, Dancing With the Stars, and Parental Discretion. She has also worked as an improvisor in the development of new series, such as Jimmy Kimmel Live! and @midnight. Loucks writes and stars in her multi-character solo play, F is for Cancer, the original web series, It's Magi!, is a founding member of Les Ms!, an all-women's long-form musical improv team, and a member of the Second City sketch ensemble, BRB. With BAs in both Theatre and English literature, Loucks is an alumna of iO West, UCB, and studied at The Second City conservatory. Founder of Crooked Lines Productions, she was nominated for an Ovation Award for Best Play, Smaller Theatre, as Producer of A Night in November, by Marie Jones, she co-produced the West Coast Premiere of Fighting Words by Sunil Kuruvilla, and the World Premiere of Sorrows and Sons, by Stephen Metcalfe. In 2009, Loucks founded the non-profit corporation Emma's Arc with the mission to improve the relationship between humans and animals, locally and worldwide.
