In July 1998 her boyfriend of 8 months had a serious motorcycle accident which left him paralyzed. Even though they were both very young, she remained by his side. That led to her involvement with the Rick Hansen Foundation which raises money for people living with spinal cord injuries.
(December 2004) Divides her time between Vancouver and Montreal, Canada. Directed her first short film in Nov 2004.
