Biography

Born in Balham, England, and best known for his voice work on radio, actor Les Tremayne moved to Chicago with his family at the age of 4 along with a few sitcoms for good measure. In the 1960s, he starred in several low-budget horror films. In later years, when speaking to radio enthusiasts, he often exaggerated the number of his radio appearances, claiming that he appeared in more than 30,000 radio broadcasts, which is untrue as well as mathematically impossible After a six-decade-plus career in radio, television, and films, Les was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1995. He died of heart failure at the age of 90, survived by his third wife, Joan.
