Biography

The principal of Clique Pictures, Lauren Grant established her company in 2006 to focus on developing feature film and documentary production. In 2011, she won the best live action short drama Genie Award for the residential school musical Savage. The film has screened at over 30 film festivals including Berlinale Forum Expanded, BFI London Film Festival, SXSW and the NYC Children's Film Festival. Lauren's previous documentary work includes A Window Looking In, which featured artists such as singer Sarah McLachlan, painter Shawn Hunt and writer William Gibson. She has also worked on television projects Eat St. for The Food Network/Cooking Channel and the broadcast documentaries Reservation Soldiers, Breaking Ranks and Girl Racers. Lauren's previous short film credits include co-directing, producing and editing the short documentary 24 Hours, producing and editing Tomorrow Doesn't Look Good Either, producing and editing The Night Before, producing the CFC 35 mm drama Parkdale and co-producing the short Gravity Boy. Lauren has also worked as a festival consultant and coordinator on numerous short films including Troy Nixey's Latchkey's Lament. Lauren has been selected to attend the CFC North South Marketplace at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Previous festival activity includes attending the Banff Media Festival on a CTV Fellowship as well as attending the 2011 Rotterdam Lab and Berlinale Talent Campus. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Arts from UBC with a double major in Film Production and History and attended the Canadian Film Centre's Producers Lab.
