Canadas first and thus far only female Prime Minister. Although she was voted in by the Conservative Party to replace the void left by Brian Mulroney, she was never actually elected in by the Canadian people.

Is the first Prime Minister to hold a House seat from British Columbia (Prime Minister John Turner did not hold a seat when he was Prime Minister and was swept from office during the election that won him his British Columbian seat).

Led the Progressive Conservative Party to the worst electoral defeat in Candaian history during the 1993 federal election. The Progressive Conservatives went from being the governing party to being reduced to 2 seats in the House of Commons. Campbell lost her own seat in Vancouver.

Was Canadas first female Minister of Justice and Attorney General (1990-1993).

Was the first Prime Minster to have held office at all three levels of Canadian government. She served as a Trustee for the Vancouver School Board and as a member of the British Columbia Legislature prior to entering federal politics.

(March 2010) Today Kim Campbell spends most of her time in the US and abroad engaged in issues of governance and leadership.
