Biography

Kevin Sommerfield was born in Tomah, Wisconsin. Growing up watching scary movies nearly every night, Sommerfield continued his love of horror into his adulthood to become a horror filmmaker. He studied Radio, Television, and Film at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Sommerfield, a big fan of 1980's slasher films in particular, hopes to show new generations of horror fans that love and care can go into one of the horror's least loved sub-genres. His favorite horror movies include "A Nightmare on Elm Street", "Black Christmas", and "The Burning". His favorite "scream queen" is Heather Langenkamp. He finished post-production as Executive Producer on "Teddy: It's Gonna Be a Bear" with director Steve Goltz in February 2011. Later that year he worked on the "Scream" homage "Popularity Killer." In 2012, he broke outside of the slasher genre with the psychological thriller "Blood Brothers." In 2013, he created the award winning slasher feature "Don't Go to the Reunion" and released the holiday horror slasher "Dismembering Christmas" in 2015. His third feature film is a partnership with L.A. Horror entitled "Irrational Fear," a supernatural-slasher hybrid that Sommerfield describes as "Dream Warriors" meets "Final Destination."
