Has written lyrics to more than 1000 pop songs, among them several of the Danish contributions to the Eurovision Song Contests
He studied to be an elementary school teacher. He graduated in 1969 but has never worked as a teacher.
He had his first big hit in 1966 with "Ved landsbyens gadekr". At that time he was the lead singer in the Danish band Donkeys. The band broke up on New Years Eve 1980. Since then hes been working as a solo act and as a duo with his wife Hilda.
