Katy was born in Virginia and raised in rural Maryland, just outside of Washington D.C. Her first acting experience was in 2003 when she began doing background work on the production of Ladder 49, which was being filmed in Baltimore, MD. She has had extensive dance training and was used as a dancer and a dance double on the production of the original Step Up movie. She has gone on to do more background work, recently having reoccurring appearances on the HBO series VEEP starring Julia Louis Dreyfus. Katy continues to reside in rural Maryland, while running an art studio and raising her children.
Graduated second in her class from Stanford University Law School (June 14 1998). She received the Urban A. Sontheimer Third-Year Honor for earning the second-highest cumulative grade point average in the graduating class. In addition, she was one of the recipients of the Lawrason Driscoll Moot Court Award, given to officers of the Moot Court Board. Was also elected to the Order of the Coif, the national law honor society.
