Biography

Justin was born in Illinois, and later grew up in the Los Angeles suburb of San Dimas, California. He received a BA in Dramatic Art from UC Santa Barbara and an MFA in Writing from The School of the Art Institute Chicago. He spent many years working in the theatre and indie film scenes in Chicago. He co-wrote the screenplay to Nate & Margaret which sold to Breaking Glass Pictures before playing a film festival. He is proud to say Roger Ebert liked the film. He now lives in Los Angeles where he writes, in addition to performing improv and stand-up comedy.

Met director Nathan Adloff when they both worked at the Apple Store Genius Bar in Chicago.

Is a vegetarian.

Has written plays about historical figures, including painter Jean-Michel Basquiat and novelist Ken Kesey.

Co-founded a site-specific theatre company in Chicago called Sandbox Theatre Project with college friends Cliff Chamberlain, Chelsea Keenan, and Lee Keenan.
