Biography

Julie grew up on a farm in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. Growing up on a steady diet of "Green Acres" and "The Beverly Hillbillies", she worked her acting way to NYC for a summer, was hooked, and never looked back. While living between Los Angeles and New York, Julie acted, did theater, and was part of a gorilla style film production group where she wrote, directed, crewed and acted in multiple short films. Julie has had multiple roles in front of and behind the camera. Julie's latest directing endeavor is "Fiddlin'". Along with her sister, Vicki, they returned back home to their roots to film this Old Time / Bluegrass music documentary about the talented multi-generational musicians who are determined keep this vital music alive. Out of this music was born Country music ultimately influencing Jazz, Rock N roll, and many other genres. On a trip to Cannes with two fellow divorcees, Julie, using only her hand held camera directed, shot, and appeared as herself in "Cannes Without A Plan," a reality feature documenting the three women's impulsive romp to the Cannes Film Festival. This comedic and insightful film dealing with divorce, sobriety and being a single mom proved that just because you are no longer in your 20's or 30's, your life is far from over. Julie is also developing and writing multiple other projects with her partners at Calamity J Productions and GASP Studios, both based in Los Angeles.
