Julie Anne Peñaflorida San Jose, also known as JAPS to her supporters, was born on May 17, 1994 in Novaliches, Quezon City, Philippines to Marivic and Jonathan San Jose. She was first seen on TV as one of the finalists in Eat Bulaga's studying Bachelor of Communication Arts at Angelicum College in Quezon City, Philippines.
She plays the guitar, drums, piano, flute, lyre, xylophone, ukulele and violin.
She wrote two songs in her self-titled debut album that was released in 2012.
In 2011, a video of her singing Nicki Minajs "Superbass" during one of her web casts became viral obtaining 16 million views on YouTube.
Her self-titled debut album was awarded 9x Platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) in 2014.
"Ill Be There", her first single in her debut album, was the very first single to have a 4x Platinum Digital Single award. It is also the very first song to have the "Digital Single" award.
