She became interested in acting while attending Hunter College in Manhattan, New York. She is a founding member of the Labyrinth Theatre Company, a multi-cultural acting space in Manhattan.

One of four daughters, three of whom are actors.

Fraternal twin sister of Joselin Reyes.

Older sister of Fidias Reyes.

Has been in "NYPD Blue" along with 3 other members of the "Scrubs" cast - Sam Lloyd , Ken Jenkins , and Neil Flynn.

Has played a nurse in both the television series "Scrubs" and the film Bringing Out the Dead .

In the Fall of 2006, she broke her hip, hence affecting the way in which some of her shots had to be filmed, sitting down on "Scrubs" . This is most noticeable in the episode, "Scrubs" {My Musical (#6.6)} , where she was filmed sitting during most of the episode, except with the song "Dominican", which was filmed 5 weeks later than the rest of the show when she had fully healed.

Won the 2006 Outstanding Actress on a TV Show ALMA award for her role in "Scrubs" .

Has a daughter, Leila Rey Valencia (b. November 27, 2009), with her boyfriend George Valencia.

In two years, Reyes was in both a movie called Little Girl Lost: The Delimar Vera Story and an episode of Castle titled "Little Girl Lost.".
