Biography

Whether it is on stage, television, or any other media outlet, John Pleasant always seems to find a way to put his best foot forward. His love for acting came about when he was a freshman in high school. His teacher asked him if he wanted to audition for the school play titled, "Barefoot in the Park." Not having any prior acting experience, he still decided to go ahead and take a chance and little did he know, he would land the part as the Delivery Man. The character was an old man, who after walking up 10 flights of stairs, was completely exhausted! The script didn't even address the character with a sentence. All that read was a simple grunt sound, "ughh." That is all he was given to work with, but he did not allow that to limit him in his performance. He cleverly found a way to create an outstanding character without upstaging any other actors, received a standing ovation in the middle of the show, and at that exact moment, he knew that this was his calling! The next time around, his acting teacher didn't have to ask him to audition for the next play. He was there! And, once again, he auditioned, and this time around he got the lead as Nathan Detroit in "Guys and Dolls." And he has not stopped since!
