American actor who began in musicals and Hal Roach comedies before briefly becoming a minor leading man during the war years. Following military service he was relegated to support roles and bits. He made many guest appearances on episodes of TV shows.
In between acting jobs worked as a car salesman and restaurant manager.
Initially signed as Jack Hubbard by Paramount in 1937. Subsequently acted under the name Anthony Allan in several MGM films of the late 1930s.
Hobbies included collecting books.
Although he played Dick Foran s son in The Mummys Tomb , he was only four years his junior in real life.
Father of Daniel Hubbard and Amy Hubbard.
Painter. Served in the United States Military Counter-Intelligence in Japan from 1954 to 1956. Has lived in England since 1960.
