He has directed the most number of James Bond movies totaling five. These are For Your Eyes Only , Octopussy , A View to a Kill , The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill .

The foreword of his autobiography, "For My Eyes Only: My Life with James Bond" , was written by Roger Moore , who played James Bond in 3 of the 5 Bond movies directed by Glen.

Directed all five of the 1980s era James Bond films.

He is best known for playing Dr. Gordon Briscoe in "The Quatermass Experiment" . The serials storyline concerns the first three humans to journey into outer space and to orbit the Earth. On February 20, 1962, his near namesake John Glenn became the fifth person in space as well as the first American to orbit the Earth. He was the second person overall to orbit the Earth after the first person in space, the Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin on April 12, 1961.
